Is it possible to convert a century-old rundown shed into a lovely chic tiny house? Well, Dallas-based designer Paige Morse did just that. She renovated a pair of old sheds in her backyard and transformed it into a cozy home away from home. It is a remarkable built as she transformed a small space to make it efficient without compromising style and comfort. And oh, it's all about making your build simple and practical.
In just four months, Morse completed the renovation and transformed it into a 250-square-foot, two-bedroom guesthouse. To make it work well, she just incorporated a simple black-and-white color scheme so that it won't look to overwhelming for such a small space. In fact, she even ditched the dishwasher and learned a couple of one-dish recipes just to keep household items just enough not to make unnecessary clutter.
In order to achieve that illusion of bigger space, bringing in more natural light with good-sized windows is the key. The pitched ceiling also helped. Incorporating natural elements inside like house plants will make it look like the outside is part of the interior space.
Artwork also play a good part in the tiny house's aesthetics with a cohesive arrangement of portraits, one-of-a-kind furniture and some religious-inspired pieces. Stripe patterns make the room bigger as it widens and elongates your spatial perception.
A lot of thinking went into the additional hidden storage in the bathroom by using fabric to skirt around the sink thereby hiding a small storage area. A pair of mirrors also create the illusion of bigger space while a creative arrangement of book pages gives it a more artful look.
