Ultilizing Color Schemes in Tiny Houses

Color brings out the best of your tiny house and accentuates the features and contrasts the rich natural wood color. Personal preferences change according to what the homeowner sees so that a monochrome dark-light combination may not be the ideal color scheme for some.

In recent years, there has been a shift to light and pastel colors and some homeowners and designers have even opted for an all-white scheme to reflect a blank canvas that they can change and grow with the house. Ideally, small spaces favor white since it will make it more spacious.

Don't overdo the colors and choose at least two complimentary colors that go well together. At the end of the day, its all about a delicate balancing act when you have a very small space to work on. In the case of the Indigo Home by Driftwood Homes, they painted some of the spaces in bright white to highlight the indigo paint and the rustic reclaimed barn wood used in the house's interior. An interesting highlight is the kitchen where the same indigo are present in the cabinets paired with the natural wood color.

Creative use of color schemes will make your tiny house more spacious and cozy than a regular sized one. You can always recolor old furniture and give it a new breath of fresh air.
