One of the most overlook aspect in tiny house design has always been waste disposal. Why? Furniture, appliances and personal stuff takes a lot of space so that finding an area where we can dispose waste and trash is now just an afterthought. Good thing there are ingenious ways of placing a compost and rubbish bins to collect both organic and inorganic waste that can be hidden on plain sight.
Don't throw away your organic waste from leftover food and peelings when you can compost it. Your organic compost can be used to fertilize your vegetable patch. You can insert your bin in a hole cut out from your kitchen counter so that you can easily slide all the peelings into the bin. Collect all the organic waste, cover it with soil and let the normal decomposition process run its course. Just make sure that you get rid of that funky smell.
If you're not picky and you want to be environmentally-friendly, you may want to use a compost toilet. It may not be the ideal personal comfort for you but it also saves you a lot of money on water bill.
Don't you just love things that are hidden in plain sight? I love it when something functional melds perfectly with the aesthetics of a living space.
