Traditional Filipino house "bahay kubo" are normally raised off the ground for a variety of reasons - to avoid rising waters during the annual monsoon rains or to allow livestocks like chickens and ducks to take shelter below. Called Numana, this unique take on the bahay kubo design has used modern concrete beams to raise it off the ground to provide a shaded outdoor space to sit and relax while enjoying the view of the organic family farm.
As this vacation home is located in the countryside, guests can enjoy living near a mango orchard with an organically-grown vegetable farm production area and a variety of farm animals. The property also shares its estate with a non-profit organization for K9 dogs.
This is a farm stay with a working farm and neighboring farms around the property. Guests should expect flies, insects, animal sounds from dogs, roosters, birds and the rustic smell of farm animals. There are free-roaming farm dogs and chickens in the property.
It has a canopy bed so that children and kids-at-heart will enjoy the hammock and the swings. For added protection, it also has a baby- and pet-proof gate, as well as a farm kit with sunblock, sanitizer, and citronella spray. The farmland and grass field views are incredible, and there are endless activities to keep everyone entertained: picking vegetables and seasonal fruits, feeding the farm animals, and having a bonfire or picnic.
The place is accessible by public transport but it is best to have a private vehicle as there is a short rough road going to the farm and a couple of meters from the main road.
