Designed by Chalmers University students from Sweden, Halo is a 645-square-foot solar-powered house constructed with renewable materials for the students to live an energy-efficient lifestyle. Solar cells line the exterior of the living space, serving both as solar energy absorbing panels and an external roof over the structure.
This modern home produces as more energy than it uses thanks to its curving roof, made from monocrystalline silicon photovoltaic solar cells on acrylic, which harnesses energy from the sun to power its private rooms and over-sized communal spaces. The interiors are clad in locally-sourced wood and furnishings are typical Swedish precise design.
This is such a unique home! I love how it looks like it's mostly an open-plan kind of place although if it were my own house I would have to make sure that I have adequate storage facilities hidden within the platform or underground to make sure that it remains neat and tidy considering how exposed it is!
