Raven Loft, A Tiny Hut on Stilts

Raven Loft is a cozy, prefabricated tiny hut on stilts built for those looking for a great micro-home away from the hassles of bustling city life and spend time in a peaceful, natural setting of the British Columbia forest. Conceived and built by AA's Hooke Park graduate Nozomi Nakabayashi, this tiny building is elevated from the ground and sat on wooden columns.

The home was built using a mix of materials such cork, locally-sourced Western Red Cedar timber for cladding and reclaimed materials for the structure and glazing. Its interior houses a small wood-burning stove, a retractable bed and opens up onto a patio that provides beautiful views of the surroundings. Mr. Nakabayashi designed the house and built the structure using only battery-powered tools.

The soffit and small living area are made from plywood and polycarbonate, while the walls are insulated with cork. The small team used reclaimed telephone poles for the basis of the structure and locally-sourced western red cedar as the main building material.
