Arado Weehouse

Geoffrey Warner, a violinist and founder of weeHouse, built Arado as a peaceful retreat for $60,000 in 2003. The large windows offer an amazing view of the surrounding environment but keep in the heat during the winter.

His family can enjoy off-the-grid living in this micro house located on Minnesota prairie land near Lake Pepin. The interior is completely wrapped in Douglas fir and features IKEA built-in cabinetry and kitchen elements as well as floor-to-ceiling Andersen windows on both sides. The exterior cladding is made from cementitious siding painted with an oxidizing paint, which provides a rustic yet hardy finish.

This original weeHouse design was built in-factory by Warner and his team of craftsmen for approximately $60,000 in 2003 and now stands as the iconic image for the weeHouse identity.
